Day 12 - Power outage

I don't know what's worse: no water or no electricity. Anyway, when I came back from Spanish class this morning, the power was out. No fan! No charging my phone! No WiFi and no WhatsApp! It's amazing how much electricity you can save when you don't have any!

The power outage only lasted for one to two hours. It's annoying that it made me nervous right away.

The scorpion in the project yesterday also made me nervous. There were still some empty boxes left from moving into the new additional building. When someone was trying to clear them away, one scurried out. I had never seen one "in real life" before. One of the bigger boys stepped on it, but the creature was tough and kept trying to escape. Now I avoid big flower pots, as Candida, my host mother, told me that they like to hide there. I'm a celebrity, get me out of here!

Only my salsa friends can understand the following: I googled like crazy to find a place to salsa dance here, and then Elena tells me that there's a salsa taster class at Hotel Corazón every Monday evening. Well, that's not for me, I can already dance. But I went anyway. At least 40 people, with no knowledge of dancing whatsoever. Mostly girls, of course. I joined in the fun and even got a dance partner. And I got a tip on where to go salsa dancing. I'll be hitting the dance floor on Friday!

The photo shows an apparently new ceiling painting in the cathedral with Noah's Ark. What's the big deal? I can't take sensational photos every day!

Temperature is only 30 degrees, cloudy, calm.
