Little Italy

On May 1, 2022, we arrived at the port of New York with the Queen Mary 2. Experiencing this at sunrise was something very special for us.
The customs entry went quickly and smoothly. We just found it strange that we didn't get a traditional stamp in our passport. Hopefully, it will work out for our round trip! We first took a taxi to Manhattan to our hotel for the next 4 nights. To end the first day in a relaxed way, we took the subway to Little Italy. It didn't take long until the kids wanted to have ice cream. As we went to the next ice cream parlor, we realized later that it was a traditional café called 'Ferrara'. The ice cream was delicious and the price amazed us. 29 dollars for 4 small ice creams, 'okay' it's still vacation.
As we strolled through the streets, we passed by a small playground that had to be inspected immediately. Besides the ice cream, it was the highlight for the kids on this day. For dinner, we went to one of the city's first pizzerias.
