Day 43: Great Ocean Road (Port Campbell - Princetown)

የታተመ: 06.12.2016

We want to get our defective rear tire repaired and ask for a recommendation at the campsite. The nearest workshop is in Timboon, so we start heading north 15 km after breakfast. At the workshop, they tell us that they unfortunately can't repair our tire and that we should go to Colac. Since the air is escaping very slowly, we decide to continue our journey on the Great Ocean Road and postpone the workshop visit to Melbourne.

After an extensive detour to the playground in Timboon (a great place about trains), we start on the Great Ocean Road.

Our first stop is at The Grotto. A short walk with some steps leads to the grotto.

On the way to the London Bridge, the kids fall asleep. I stay with them in the motorhome and Michi goes alone on a photo tour.

Our third stop takes us to Loch Ard Gorge. There is the opportunity to go down to the beach. Samuel can't be stopped anymore. He's really having fun and we have a lot of fun too.

We want to visit the Twelve Apostles again this evening. Since we are already heading east, we decide to stay in Princetown. The Great Ocean Road now leads back inland and soft green hills with cows and sheep (very similar to New Zealand) shape the landscape. We check in at the simple Apostles campsite and cook something.

We don't want to be late today and therefore start in time for the Twelve Apostles. The weather is good to us and we experience a beautiful sunset in a stunning setting (unfortunately not all alone, but with fewer people than expected).
