So today was once again a really spectacular day! First, we rented a scooter again and were therefore independent. The scooter was an absolute disaster. Oh well. It worked and we got going.
Our first stop was at a pepper plantation. While we were waiting for the guide, we had a coffee.
In addition, we were served banana chips with salted pepper. Wow! That was really delicious!
Then we were guided through the plantation and explained where the pepper grows, how long it takes to harvest, and so on. It was really exciting and the tour was not too long, not too short and also free!
After the tour, we did a pepper tasting. That was also very exciting. Since we are not really pepper fans, we were fascinated by how different it can taste.
After the farm, we drove to a cave that was recommended to us. The way there was hellish! Unfortunately, there is only one picture when the path was still beautiful, otherwise it was too bumpy to take pictures.
When we finally arrived, we were greeted immediately and asked if we wanted a guide. Usually, we like to do our own thing. According to Google reviews, it only makes sense with a guide. So we agreed. First of all, we were led up the stairs - of course, we were already sweating like crazy.
Then we went down the stairs again and were rewarded with an incredibly cool cave (it doesn't look so cool in the pictures 😩)
And then it got really wild and we understood why you should take a guide. We were led through mini cave passages. You really had to crawl, climb, jump... Just wow. Unfortunately, it was also difficult to take photos because we needed both hands to climb.
From time to time, we stopped and there were endless bats hanging above us. Another wow!
So after all the spectacle and bathing in bat poop...
...we hobbled back to the hostel. There we could finally take off our shoes.
Then we made dinner in the hostel. But today we only had rice with vegetables and chicken for me. But it was a pretty big portion.
And after this super cool and exhausting day, we also deserved a beer 💪🏼 but unlike with food, we didn't order a local beer but a German one. Yes, it was definitely drinkable.
By the way, we have real problems with paying here. 😅 In the following picture, you can see about 50 euros. Here, there are just so many banknotes! It's crazy!
Now we're going to bed, because we'll be picked up early tomorrow morning and HOPEFULLY REALLY ONLY drive 7 hours to Tatai. Finally, a picture of the super red full moon.
