The weather calmed down the next day. But generally, things change pretty quickly here.
Friday was concrete day in Saraswati. We couldn't start right away because some parts of the formwork had to be corrected and a string line was stretched. When we wanted to start mixing for two of our buildings, our generator broke down and we had no power for our concrete mixer. Problem? No problem! So we just mixed manually with shovels. Two mountains of sand, gravel, cement, and water, and eight people crazily shoveling. We were probably just as fast as with the mixer, but we all agreed that we had a lot more fun. Unfortunately, we finished half an hour before lunch break and had to wait forever, feeling famished, until the Dhalbhat was finally ready.
We didn't work after lunch because it's Fun Friday! Every two weeks, we spend the afternoon with the school children. With the younger ones, we drew favorite animals and dream schools, and with the older ones, we played games. A few weeks ago, the children were so shy, but now they constantly bombard us with questions. It's wonderfully beautiful to spend the afternoon together, and we know why we work every day.
