Burst plans in Chiang Mai

Day 22 (March 28, 2023)

Today was our last opportunity to sleep in, which we took advantage of, of course.

So at 12 o'clock, after a small breakfast, we went in search of a scooter for rent. Fortunately, the scooter rental was not far from our hostel.

With our newly acquired scooter, we went straight to the Wat Pha Lat Hike (Monk's trail). This trail led up the mountain just outside of the city to a secluded temple.

It was very quiet and idyllic there, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and the view over the valley to the city for a while.

Back at the scooter, we wanted to go directly to our next destination. However, on the way, we quickly realized that something was wrong with the scooter. We had a flat tire. Perfect.

So we went down the mountain and through half the city with great caution and at a walking pace until we finally found a mechanic. For 50 baht, he fixed our tire and we were practically ready to go again. However, we had lost our trust in the scooter, so we decided to end our day trip at this point and returned it.

After a short break at the hostel, we went out to eat. We spent the evening in a bar not far from us playing billiards.

However, by 11 PM, we were quite tired and headed home.
