Mooloolaba (05.01- 08.01.2019)

Gepubliseer: 09.01.2019

Mooloolaba was our last stop along the Sunshine Coast. We spent the first day relaxing. We arrived at our accommodation at around 10 o'clock in the morning. We had to wait to check in, so we spent the time taking a walk to the tourist information and along the beach. After that, we checked in and took some rest. The weather was quite challenging. We also planned the following days. The evening ended with a free BBQ provided by the accommodation.

Our second day was very active. We rented stand-up paddle boards and paddled along the canals of Mooloolaba. It was new to me. I had never done stand-up paddling before. It's a lot of fun, but it can get monotonous after a while. By the way, there were surprisingly many beautiful houses in Mooloolaba that we could see from the water. All of them had canal access and their own boats in front of the house. After that, we went to the beach. We rented a surfboard and a bodyboard. It was time to try surfing for the first time. It's not that easy. The waves just keep coming. As soon as you get the saltwater out of your eyes, the next big wave comes and takes you with it. Ben is already quite good at surfing...I still need practice. Getting up on the slippery boards is really difficult for me. So I'm very excited about our surf lesson. After that, we sunbathed and spent more time at the beach. We applied a lot of sunscreen, but we both ended up with sunburns that day. In the evening, we took a little walk to the north of Mooloolaba.

On our third day, our sunburns bothered us so much that we stayed near the accommodation and rested there. We read books, listened to audiobooks, and just did nothing.

The next day, it was time to head towards Brisbane!

In general, I personally liked Mooloolaba the most out of all the places along the Sunshine Coast. It wasn't as crowded, but still a very nice and well-maintained place where you could be very active at the beach.
