It was clear that India would be a whole different story. On the first day or evening, you already consider whether you prefer to fly back. :))
Everything was fine at the airport - withdrew money - finally worked on the 4th ATM - bought a SIM card - but it took until now - 9.5. 12:45 pm - until it finally works. And without the help of locals who made calls there - not at all.
I had booked a hotel room and since it was already after 8pm local time, I took a taxi there. Of course, it was expensive by Indian standards. But walking and without internet is not possible. The hotel was so creepy - but that's India. Couldn't sleep much - noisy and the bed was too hard. But the hotel owner was really friendly and helpful.
After coffee, tea, and 2 toasts with butter, I went to the hostel at 11am. First by Tuk Tuk to the metro, then 3 stations to New Delhi and then Tuk Tuk again.
Hostel is okay. I'm currently washing my clothes. Then veggie sandwich and then sleep. The kitchen here in the hostel can't be used. First, you pay more than indicated because the guy keeps the rest for himself and second, there's so little that it barely fits in a tooth hole. It's also not possible to sleep again because all the other guys are Indians - very nice - but very loud voices and no one here sleeps before midnight and they've never learned the word consideration. So I went out for a walk. This hostel is located in the dirtiest part of Delhi - it's really not nice outside. And as a tourist, you are constantly ripped off from morning till evening - you don't have a chance against it.
