Tag #4-6 on Koh Samui

Gepubliseer: 06.09.2016

Hello,

we have been on Koh Samui for two days now. After landing at the small provincial airport in a propeller plane, we first went to Lamai. At the moment, we are staying in a cozy bungalow right on the beach and exploring the island with a scooter. This time it was almost full when we picked it up, but the speedometer doesn't work - well, it doesn't matter here either. Yesterday we visited the beaches in the area; Lamai Beach, Chaweng Beach, and Crystal Bay. At first, we were looking forward to snorkeling, but we were soon disappointed because the water is not very clear due to the monsoon... well, there are still a few pictures and the beaches are amazing. In the evening, we happened to come across a street market again and immediately noticed that there are a lot of German tourists here - fortunately, they will all be gone in a week. There we tried grasshoppers for the first time and they weren't that bad.

Today we went on a waterfall tour into the interior of the island. We visited Na Muang I and II. Although the second one is very touristy, we enjoyed the time because only a few of the mostly Japanese tourists took the mainly rocky paths through the jungle in flip-flops, so it wasn't too crowded. We didn't do the extremely popular elephant trekking because we felt sorry for the animals and our wallets. On the way back, we ended our trip with our first real tropical shower, which can be well described with an example: The owner of a shop put a bucket outside the door to water the plants under the roof, and after five minutes the bucket was always full. In the pictures, you can see what I looked like after 20 seconds in the rain.

In the next few days, we want to explore the northern part of the island and then head to the neighboring islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Tao.
