On Saturday morning, 15.2., we started towards Rio Grande from Rio Gallegos at 7 o'clock. The weather did not look very promising. The strong wind made driving difficult. We had to cross the border from Argentina to Chile again. We were now on the Ruta del Fin del Mundo, on the route to the end of the world. Next, we reached the Magellan Strait. Luckily, the ferry was already there, so we could get on board right away and head towards Tierra del Fuego. After about 45 minutes, we reached the other side and were greeted with the sign Bienvenido Tierra del Fuego, Welcome to Tierra del Fuego. Unfortunately, due to the strange border layout in this area, we had to cross the border again, this time from Chile back to Argentina. Shortly after the border, we were picked up by colleagues from the Rio Grande Police Academy and escorted to the police academy. Here, we had a meal and were shown where we could sleep. This time it was not as rustic, as we had triple bunk beds available. The design of the shower was astonishing, see picture, including mental cinema. As a final highlight in the evening, we were given a city tour with a visit to the memorial of the Argentine Falklands War veterans. Among other things, there was an artillery battery from the Krupp works of 1938. Upon our return, the colleagues from the Police Academy, including some cadets, were shown the promotional video of MotoForPeace in Spanish. After that, we had another meal at 10 o'clock.
