On the way to Mount Gambier, we definitely wanted to make a stop in the small fishing village of Robe. According to the travel guide, there should be a beach here that is often visited by fairy penguins at dusk. However, when we asked at the tourist information, we were assured that this must be a myth... Apparently, we were not the first German backpackers to inquire about it.
When asked what else Robe had to offer, the nice lady replied with a big smile, 'Sticky flies.' And she was definitely right...
So we continued to Mt. Gambier as quickly as possible and then to the Grampians National Park. There was a lot more to explore here...
