In Tilcara, there is also Pucará de Tilcara to visit on a hill. These are archaeological excavations and it is one of the most important archaeological sites in northern Argentina. It is an ancient fortified village of the Tilcara Indians at an altitude of 2450 meters. It is approximately 900 years old.
