Hello dear ones,
we were on a city tour again. This time we visited the medical university and then continued past the Water Palace (the magnificent building where only water was stored and today it is only an administrative building). After that, we were at the place where one of the worst attacks outside of Israel on a Jewish community happened in 1994. Today, everything has been rebuilt, but when you look at the images of the scale of that powerful explosion back then, it sends shivers down your spine :(
Afterwards, we went to El Ateneo, the most amazing bookstore ever, walked past Teatro Colon and the Obelisk, and then visited the church where the Pope preached before his appointment and where the sarcophagus of the national hero San Martin is located. Just a short distance away, we stood in front of the Casa Rosada, where stones were laid by loved ones for the Covid victims under the equestrian monument (each stone bears a name).
In between, we walked through a passage from where you can actually go up to a rooftop and see Buenos Aires, but unfortunately, the viewpoint was closed. Instead, we found the sign with Saint-Exupery... Finally, we walked down to Puerto Madero, saw the Puente de la Mujer and the museum ship Sarmiento, which is moored there. After some hot empanadas, we took a Cabify ride back home...
