Heading towards the desert.
Joshua Tree National Park in the Californian desert is our destination for today. Very pleasant nowadays to drive through these dry and windy vastnesses in an air-conditioned car with plenty of water. We enjoy the different landscape compared to our previous stops. After all, we are in the desert and we like it 😃
A few words about getting around in L.A.: The journey took almost twice as long as expected. Los Angeles is a work of art with freeway bridges and masses of cars. Five lanes in one direction, plus two entrances and exits, plus two fast track lanes or HOV lanes for those who can/want to pay the toll or have more than 2 people in the vehicle. That's a total of NINE lanes of traffic in one direction. There are virtually no public transportation options here. And of course, for cars, the ubiquitous approach applies: The bigger the better. At least the wind farm in the desert is built on the same concept.
