Our journey started early Sunday morning as we made our way to Hamburg by train. The trains were extremely punctual (!), and so we arrived at the airport confidently. Even when the power went out in the toilets and some parts of the airport, our excitement remained unclouded. Even when we found out that no planes were currently taking off, we only thought of a delay.
When the terminal was evacuated, we still thought that we would have to go through all the security checks again later.
While we stood in line for rebooking for three hours, we then found out that all flights were cancelled and we had to find an alternative. We were immediately rebooked on a flight that was leaving from Bremen two days later.
So, instead of going to Lisbon, we initially returned home... Two days later, we were picked up by three minibuses at 2 o'clock in the morning and taken to Bremen, where our flight departed in the morning.
This time, the plane took off on time - but landed again at Cologne/Bonn Airport due to a medical emergency on board.
So we waited until the plane was checked and we had permission to take off. Finally, we arrived in Lisbon with a delay of over two hours.
Finding our shuttle bus was a bit difficult, but we finally arrived at our hostel in the city center. The tour guide, who wanted to give us a first impression of Lisbon, was already there.

In the evening, we tried a specialty recommended by the tour guide: croquette with stockfish and cheese.
