After what felt like an eternity, I actually made it. I'm here! 😃
The flight to Madrid went really quick. Once I arrived, I rushed to the next gate because I only had about 1 hour for my layover. Well, 1 hour turned into about 2.5 hours.
When I finally sat on the plane, I dozed off right away thanks to my good sleep rhythm. But I could only manage to get light sleep. The flight had some turbulence, but that couldn't keep me from sleeping.
Shortly before arrival, things got hectic on the plane when suddenly a man couldn't breathe and all medical personnel were called. I can't say if it was a panic attack or a heart attack, but he ended up turning as white as a sheet and was taken to first class. That was quite a shock. - But that can't take away my joy now!
The next shock was the line at immigration where I had to wait for what felt like an hour. And that's not even considering that the flight was already delayed and Meche has been waiting forever.
After the control, my hair color and youthful appearance (=D) paid off immediately. The two young men working at the baggage carousel dropped everything and loaded my suitcases onto a cart for me =) =)
And there was Meche already!!!
My expensive pretzels were also an instant hit :-)
The car rental process turned out to be more difficult than expected. They didn't accept my specially acquired credit card! Being as uncomplicated as Paraguayans are, I quickly called the supervisor of the car rental agency and was able to deposit 300 dollars cash as a deposit. Still, I'm really annoyed that it didn't work. In true German fashion, I will be sending a hate mail to Consorsbank!
First, I unpacked my suitcases and put all the gifts together. Here's a little impression.
Of course, the first Tereré can't be missing to truly arrive in this country.
