04/08/2024: The night was - contrary to our hopes - not at all relaxed and quiet: we received 3 visits from the police. The first time they wanted to see our passports, then said goodbye very politely (minimal communication with Google translation); the 2nd and 3rd time they just shone their flashlights into the car and disappeared again. Then it was another very long day in the car - for a long time we couldn't find a place that appealed to us. Izmir, the city of a million with more than half the population of Switzerland, was too hectic for us, the traffic too aggressive: (at 82 (!) km/h criss-crossing and overtaking on the right, parking in the 2nd and 3rd row, for example. So we continued on to Kusadai, where we found a small oasis, for us the most beautiful place in Turkey so far. We ate falafel at "the Turkish woman" and decided to stay here for two nights.
