... op die pad in Cahuita

Gepubliseer: 10.11.2017

After a simple but delicious breakfast, we headed to the town of Cahuita - always as close to the sea as possible. Our goal: Cahuita National Park. This park, which is over 23,000 hectares in size, is located directly on the sea and is home to monkeys, sloths, birds ....

A hike of about 9 km is possible here. Since we didn't take a guide, we only saw one sloth and many lizards. But the hike was wonderful.

Unfortunately, the end came after 1.5 km at the mouth of the Rio Suárez into the sea, where you had to wade through the mouth to continue. Look at the pictures yourself to see how deep it was .... we didn't want to walk with wet pants ... some even waded in their underwear or bikini ... to keep going. Gabi has been coughing from the fans and air conditioners for days ....

So we walked back along the beach to the entrance. Isn't the first sloth that allowed us to take a picture hanging right there? Do you see the fur ball in the trees?

A stroll through Cahuita showed us the wonderfully colorful side of the Caribbean again. Some relaxation by the pool ... incredibly, we saw 2 huge iguanas in the resort ... no camera ready ... and many colorful birds to watch.

To end the day, we went to Sobre las Olas ... a tip from Magdalena ... we sat right by the sea and had delicious food ... and drank Daiquiri ...
