After a short night, or whatever you want to call it, it's already pretty chilly when I wake up. A healthy Norwegian drizzle makes me feel better about not getting out at the panoramic spots today.
The 330 kilometers across the Lofoten Islands and the adjacent mainland are like a journey through miniatures of what I have experienced so far. It passes fjords, small snow-covered peaks, and areas where the trees are only known from hearsay. Everything I have been able to experience in Norway so far happens again here, only smaller and in a narrow space.
Unfortunately, the clouds hang so low that I can't even see the peaks of the mountains. Still an extremely impressive area. Perfect for hiking and hardly crowded except for the tourist spot Reine.
Back on the mainland, it's just a short drive around a bay and I'm already in Narvik. Relatively large but rather unattractive. After a short round through the city, I prefer to find a place to sleep outside.
