The day started early after only a short night's sleep, as I wanted to test the fitness center before breakfast. After a nice breakfast with freshly peeled fruits, we were safe, we started at 10 o'clock. Our daily guide and our driver Ramesh, who had already picked us up from the airport yesterday, were our companions again. We were so excited to see what awaited us and once again we were pleasantly surprised. First, we went to Old Delhi to visit India's largest mosque, Jama Masjid. We were prepared for the traffic, but when you are in the midst of scooters, TukTuks, ox carts, and rickshaws, it's something else. The mosque was beautiful but having to wear the mosque's clothing was not so pleasant. Next, the rickshaw ride through the narrow lanes to the Red Fort was an absolute highlight. We continued with a visit to the mausoleum of Mahatma Gandhi, Indian Gate, and the Qutb Minar, a minaret from the 13th century. In between, we spent the time comfortably in the car, in heavy traffic. Our clever guide replaced the last sightseeing spot so that he automatically ended up near his apartment. But the minaret was also impressive. So Ramish safely brought us back to the hotel alone through the traffic jam. We were both exhausted from the many impressions....at the pool we processed what we had experienced, before I had delicious Indian butter chicken for the first time and Vanessa had something more Western 😊 We enjoyed a quiet evening before going to bed early.
