Today is two weeks since I started the Camino. The day starts very rainy, very windy and above all cold. The first few kilometers are on the country road, on the asphalt road the raindrops blow into your face through the wind. It is bitterly cold despite wearing a hat, hood and gloves. Away from the road, the path goes along Burgos airport. After the asphalt, there is mud. Not much better and I wonder why I even washed my trousers yesterday because they look worse today than yesterday. This path along the airport is long. When we arrive at the next town, we first have to warm up and eat something. There were three options for getting to Burgos today. On country roads and then through industrial and residential areas or the third path that I chose, along the river. It was a few kilometers longer but the most beautiful alternative. And that turned out to be true. The path was really beautiful through bushes, along meadows and always with the river on the right. However, the river promenade took almost two hours to walk straight ahead. Only the highlights of the river made this much more enjoyable. When I arrived in the city, I just had to cross the bridge and then I was standing in front of the impressive Burgos Cathedral. Visiting this took up the entire afternoon. It was beautiful in any case and the works of art there gave us a lot to laugh about. I looked at the pictures with Anton from
Finland and we were amazed by Jesus with an English flag, medieval soldiers who brought Jesus to the cross and many other amazing interpretations. At dinner, Stefan and Hendrik from Germany, as well as Ryan, Anton and Susann from New Zealand philosophized about different language customs, the "nearby Frankfurters" who are not Frankfurters and about many other interesting things. I don't even know where I'm going tomorrow. I'm meeting Ryan at 8 a.m. and then we'll just set off 😅
