After having breakfast with only yogurt 🥄 and a little bit of pastry 🍪 because, as you remember, the selection was not that nice, we wanted to kill some time in the hotel room. Since check-in in Florence was not until 3pm and the travel time was only 2 hours, we wanted to check out as late as possible (11am) 🕚
Since most of our stuff was already packed, we had no choice but to stay in bed on our phones. 20 minutes later, we got tired of it and decided to grab everything, pay the bill, and walk to the car to pack it up 🚗🧳
It turned out that something was stuck on the roof of the Mini and it wouldn't open. Too bad we couldn't fit our suitcases properly on the back seat. After researching what the problem could be and contemplating how to drive without an open roof, we tried opening it again. And it worked 🥳 So we loaded everything without any further problems and off we went to Florence. Of course, Fico, our little Feigi, must not be missing 🥰
In Tuscany, at least the landscape is a bit more beautiful than in Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy ⛰️🌳🌲 -Yeay 😇
The only problem was that since we had enough time and therefore avoided the faster toll road, we drove up and down mountains 🎢 which my stomach wasn't happy about after the not-so-nice breakfast. Along the way, we made two stops to take pictures and have a short break with a snack ⛰️🥨 - after that, I felt a little better.
We made it to the apartment in Florence, but unfortunately, there were still 1.5 hours left until we could check in. Since we were also not sure where we could park for free to explore a bit, we spontaneously decided to drive to the nearby Megges and wait there. When we arrived, we even managed to get the last parking space, which was not that big 🅿️
We had Megges to eat and in the end, an ice cream 🍔🍟🌯🍦
During that time, I kept trying to reach the host to get access to the apartment. Admittedly, a bit late, oops, but oh well. After sending a message via Booking, providing the arrival time on Booking, and sending a message on WhatsApp, he eventually responded, but still didn't send the check-in instructions 🥲😅
When we were back in front of the apartment around a quarter past 3, I called him. Turned out he was driving and couldn't respond that well. 2 minutes later, we received a series of pictures that explained everything to us 🙈
The chaos was worth it because the apartment is really spacious, has a washing machine, a comfortable bed (finally!), and an underground parking space 😌
After settling in, we went to the supermarket. The last item on our shopping list, an avocado 🥑, had a problem with the barcode, so EVERYTHING had to be scanned again. I haven't experienced that before. But we had some small talk with the still very nice cashier 😇
The way home was a bit tiring with two bags, a 6-pack of water, and the heat (36°C, but felt like 42°C), so we took a short break in the middle, at a park 🛍☀️
Everything was put away at home, I already cooked rice for the dinner bowl, and I booked a cute hotel room by the sea between Pisa and Genoa 😍
When we got hungry, we cut and fried vegetables and salmon, and arranged everything with dressing. Yummy 😋
Let's see what we're going to do now. Plan a bit for the next few days here and then sleep as usual 😴
P.S. Riddle: Where is Finn in the last picture? 👀🕵🏽♂️🕵🏼♀️
