Hello there,
what could be better than waking up by the lake and having breakfast there? It was very cold on this morning, so we had to put on a hat and gloves, but the view made up for everything. After breakfast, we packed everything up and headed back on the gravel road towards Comox. From there, we wanted to take the ferry to the Sunshine Coast today.
Along the way, we stopped at Elk Falls Provincial Park to see the Elk Falls from a suspension bridge. As we walked from the parking lot to the waterfall, we saw three little deer, but they quickly ran away when they saw us.
In the afternoon, we took the ferry from Comox to Powell River. The weather was really nice, so I spent the whole ferry ride outside on the deck.
When we arrived in Powell River, we drove to Walmart, where we actually planned to spend the night in the parking lot. But the Walmart was tiny, located in a small mall, and no one could tell us if overnight parking was allowed. So we decided to stay at a nearby recreation site right by the ocean. And we definitely didn't regret this decision! Because as we were driving a small path through the forest to the campsite, we unexpectedly saw a bear!!! Our first bear, it was a small black bear. However, we only saw its backside and it was gone so quickly that we didn't have time to take photos... So unfortunately there is no proof photo. But later on, we also saw dolphins in the sea as we watched the sunset.
