Day 380: It has been half an eternity since my last post. Here's a little overview of what has happened between Vietnam and now:
After Vietnam, I returned to Perth where I welcomed my dear friend Anna. From there, we traveled together up the west coast in my little car, braving the wind and weather, and arrived in Darwin after countless wonderful experiences, deep conversations, and the occasional glass of wine. From there, Anna continued her journey along the east coast while I welcomed my father and his wife and spent eventful 4 weeks exploring the Gibb River Road. Time flew by. We saw crocodiles, amazing gorges, encountered buffalo, endured many cold nights, laughed a lot, and enjoyed my dad's delicious food. After bidding farewell, I stayed a little longer in Broome and then drove down the infamous Tanami Road to Alice Springs. Along the way, we saw countless burnt-out cars, vast desert, and some wild camels. Upon arriving in Alice, we had a fantastic evening at the casino. My companion had to return to work, so I stayed in Alice and found work on a camel farm, where I am still now. However, tonight is my last evening here. Tomorrow, we're heading to Uluru, from where we will once again cross the desert to return to Perth. Then, it's back to where it all began for me, back to Albany. Then, another week in Brisbane, and then it's time to go to Cologne... mixed emotions will accompany me there, but there is also a lot of joy. In this spirit, see you soon at home!
Greetings from the desert :)
