Woohoo today is Hobbiton. Since we were over-punctual, we took a tour 20 earlier. Our tour guide was - surprise - also a German :D
Walking around the Shire was really cool. We now know why Peter Jackson chose this location: green spaces everywhere.
Bilbo and Frodo's hut at the top of the hill was the highlight. At the end of the tour we were allowed to tour the inside of a newly built hobbit house. And then we had cider and beer at the Green Dragon. In the souvenir shop we bought E a small Kiwi Bird to replace her sheep (which is now in the 'trash' and 'gone').
Benny is now doing the New Zealander thing: shorts and a long sweater at the top. It's still too windy for me.
Then we found out that we had to drive back to Auckland because of our breakdown and that the repair would probably take more than a day. So we set off and spent another night at Piha Beach. A short windy detour to the beach and Lion Rock was also included. Then we packed for tomorrow and maybe one night and E let off steam on the playground. Every playground here has an area for smaller children and a baby swing. Now E is starting to get sick too, we're still coughing.
