Friday, October 25th was our last day of school in Russia. Like every morning, we were brought to the library by the Russian students. In the first hours, we practiced our prepared program points and completed the presentations on the subject of theater.
At 12 o'clock, the presentations began. One group presented German and Russian dramatists, one group the most famous German and Russian theaters, and one group talked about the people who work in the theater and our visit to the puppet theater. The German students spoke in Russian and the Russian students showed their knowledge of German. All presentations were illustrated with beautiful pictures.
Anastasia, Luise's exchange student, performed a Russian folk song and flawlessly recited "Erlkönig". That was very impressive.
In the first week at the university, we got to know the fairy tale "Теремок" (Wooden Hut) and we also performed it. Our presentation ended with singing German and Russian songs together.
At the farewell, all German students and teachers received a certificate for successful participation in the student exchange, and the teachers received various gifts.
But our cozy get-together wasn't over yet. The Russian students and teachers had brought many different Russian delicacies. There were confections, various cakes, filled pancakes, baked bread, and to our delight, pizza as the crowning glory. Thirst was also taken care of with water, cola, and juices. We enjoyed everything very much.
We had a pleasant conversation and sang different songs together.
Our great last day of school ended around 3 PM and we looked forward to another day with our host family.
