The early bird catches the worm! So hurry up and get out of bed, because the train to Brighton leaves at 9 am! :D
Since everything went according to plan, we even arrived in Brighton earlier than expected. However, the train ride was annoying... It was crowded, with people talking everywhere in short summer clothes. And Esther and I? We were standing there in long pants. But Brighton immediately proved them wrong about their outfit choice in the morning as soon as we got off the train. It was really cool compared to the last few days in London, with a temperature of 19 degrees, and it was windy too - after all, we were on the English coast.
What else is there to say about our day and Brighton? Crowded pier with an amusement arcade and overpriced food, beautiful beaches (although with stones), cute shopping mall near the sea. And I even found a seashell! Unfortunately, it was broken... Oh well, never mind :D
After about 5 hours in Brighton, we decided to go back to London and enjoy the rest of the day there. And so we did! A nice walk from King's Cross to Oxford Street, then a bit of shopping, and after this long day, going home.
Back in Hatfield and very hungry, we cooked potato gratin at half past ten at night, and to celebrate the day (and because Esther had to go back to Germany the next day), we had some champagne.
I just say: Cheers! To us and this beautiful time! :)
In a nutshell: Brrr, it was cold! But a sea is a sea, whether it's a sandy beach or a stony one! So we better pull ourselves together and be happy about it despite the weather :D Or simply go back to London :P
Take care!
Yours,
Leonie
