Day 31 and 32 Ho Chi Minh City and Mekong Delta

On Saturday evening we took a look at Ho Chi Minh City from above. On the Skydeck of the Bitexco Tower we had a beautiful view. The city showed its modern face and one was reminded a little of New York.

The square in front of the town hall is closed to traffic on weekends and is particularly used by young families. There are karaoke performances, you can pet rabbits and snakes, accompanied by street vendors who want to sell everything possible. We watched the colorful hustle and bustle with a cool drink.

Bui Vien Street is the party mile for the city's tourists. In a few words: very flashy, very colorful, and very very loud 🤪. But the beauty of traveling is, in addition to experiencing beautiful nature and unknown places, the contact with many people. In Bui Vien Street, we sit next to an Asian-looking man and start chatting. It turns out, the guy was born in Neuss, grew up in Wanne Eickel, and has been living in California for years. Nice conversations...

The next day we went on a tourist tour to the Mekong Delta. The river is huge, maybe comparable to the Mississippi. About 75% of the rice in Vietnam is grown there. In addition, people live from coconut cultivation and fish farming. The encounters here are also great, a family from Canada with 4-year-old Thomas, who speaks French in addition to English and understands a little German because Grandma comes from Germany. He has a brother Theo who is only 5 months old. The family wants to travel for 6 months...
