Hello my love,
The weather was good and I was busy with all sorts of sporting activities in nature and am only now writing to you about my visits all over Germany.
My tour began in Mannheim for our 10-year study reunion and to visit my brother and his family. (We started studying in Mannheim 10 years ago)
My old fellow students and I are also scattered all over Germany and all went to Mannheim for this evening and for breakfast together. It was very, very nice to see them all again and I was really happy that they all came.
After a few days in Mannheim we went on to my aunt and uncle in Wiefelstede in northern Germany. Here we went bowling together, went cycling, looked at the rhododendron garden and let the sun shine on our faces in an incredibly cool garden project. In this garden there are various tables and chairs set up and there is a small house where you can help yourself and there are delicious cookies, coffee and fresh honey from this garden.
It was a wonderful few days in the lowlands and the food was so incredibly delicious that it still makes my mouth water.
After my visit to Wiefelstede, I went on to visit my cousin and her family in Kaltenkirchen (north of Hamburg). Here I brought a little bit of Tyrol to HH and had delicious cheese spaetzle one evening. The spaetzle were rather improvised and didn't look that great, but in the end it's all about the fact that they taste good.
My cousin also took me to her hobby and I tried wakeboarding for the first time. And what can I say: it was just so incredibly fun! I didn't do anything stupid and made it to the second corner. But it took me a few attempts to get there and I ended up on my face quite often. The breaking point was when I was told: "Stop thinking! And don't try to steer like you do on a snowboard!"
Not thinking works really well and we had a lot of fun! ;)
The visits were simply heartwarming and there were lots of great new experiences and a great time! With that in mind, thank you very much to everyone who made these days so wonderful!
After Mannheim and the north we continued west - off to Uncle and Auntie in Düsseldorf.
More on that in the next post - so until then,
Your Britta
