Elephantastic hello and warm welcome to my fantastic stone tour on the South Island of New Zealand.
After the first few cool rocks, there are more cool rocks a little further south of the Clay Cliffs. After another hour's drive, I reached the Elephant Rocks just in time for sunset. Here I was actually completely alone and was able to look around a bit in a really quiet environment.
Anyone who has ever been out in nature with me, especially near rocks, will know that I couldn't hold back and climbed onto one or maybe even seven of these huge rocks. What fun! My body was already pretty worn out, but I couldn't pass up an opportunity like that.
After I found a suitable spot, I took my time watching the sunset and only took about 4000 pictures of it. I'm showing you 2000 of them now:
Oh yeah, I lied earlier. I wasn't completely alone there - a few sheep made sure that I didn't get up to too much mischief and regularly barked at me. (Pun à la carte)
Really exhausted from this fantastic but also exhausting day, we then continued on to the campsite in Oamaru.
Elephantastic greetings to the other side of the world,
Your Britta
