Salzburg - Grado Day 1

Gepubliseer: 27.05.2022

This morning at 5 o'clock I left home by bike. Admittedly still a little tired but at the same time wide awake.

I arrived at Gümmeren train station far too early. I was rewarded with a beautiful sunrise.

After my father-in-law and brother-in-law arrived, we took the train to Bern.

In Bern we were a little early, which gave us the opportunity to get a coffee.

Strengthened, we boarded the train in Bern to Zurich. Although we had reserved, the seat was occupied by an oversized stroller, which was used as a suitcase. Luckily, the two reserved seats were free.

In Zurich, we took the elevator to the upper parts and here too we were early, which allowed us a relaxed transfer.

Now we continued to Feldkirch. Loading the bikes was made easier for us as a conductor took the bikes.

After two hours, we had to change again. This time it was much tighter. The bikes had to be squeezed between already hanging bikes. Scratches included.

The rest of the journey was pleasant. Except for a few ladies who could talk non-stop for 3 hours. They even read their agendas to each other. Time for some music in the ears and doze off.

Arriving in Salzburg was very pleasant, with 25 degrees and sunshine. Wonderful.

A few kilometers along the Salzach River and we were already at the campsite.

Setting up the tent, enjoying a beer and going shopping. Meanwhile, it's routine, but always a beautiful routine.

After shopping comes cooking. There was penne alla tonno e tomato. Parmesan. A Greek salad for starters and some wine. What a day.

After doing the dishes and taking a hot shower, it's time to go into the tent and write these lines. Tomorrow we will continue cycling. Goodbye.
