Together with Porter, I walk to the bus station to avoid a repeat of his dilemma from yesterday. We arrive in Santiago at noon. I say goodbye, for Porter it's back to the Texan Bible Belt tonight. At Lider-Walmart, I buy a fancy Pisco and hopelessly overpriced Ferrero-Rocher as a thank you to Omar Senior and his wife Gladys. In the supermarket, mundane products like cheese are heavily secured with locked plastic containers and an army of security guards prowls the aisles. They also catch a homeless looking gentleman drinking canned beer next to me in the chocolate section.
When we arrive at the Omars, a hearty meal is served first, followed by a nap.
In the evening, I go out for drinks with Omar Junior and Basti, and we share fries with toppings, which is a common bar snack here. After that, we go party at Mito Urban, an upscale club. You can order drinks on large touchscreens, like at McDonald's or Burger King. The music is heavily influenced by Reggaeton, which doesn't exactly match my taste, but the excellent atmosphere makes up for it. Outside on the cramped terrace, we smoke Kent-Slim cigarettes with menthol flavor (also known as "Nuttenstaengl" in Germany). It somehow reminds me of Lloret de Mar.
