The campsite in Ronaes is more of a stopover - although it is located right by the sea, the pitches are too close together. Felix meets some Germans who have been here for two weeks... so much fun...
We continue driving, past Odense, to Kerteminde. There we visit Fjord & Baelt, a research facility for seals and harbor porpoises (relatives of dolphins), which finances itself with an exhibition and shows. We see the feeding of the seals and admire the intelligence of the harbor porpoises that are kept there. One of them (Freja) is an astonishing 27 years old and supposedly the oldest known specimen of this species.
Afterwards, we drive for a comfortable hour across the Great Belt Bridge (630 DKK toll) to the DCU campsite in Copenhagen.
It is really busy here. The smell of barbecue is coming from everywhere (not always pleasant) and we are serenaded with 'YMCA' and 'It's Raining Men' from the neighboring area. Felix improves his English, Italian, French, and Hessian at the football field - however, nobody speaks Viennese here.
We also take out our grill and bring the smell of burned mini sausages... but it still tasted good...
