The easy life has come to an end. Driver here, car here, which means it's time to start working. Alarm set for 4.30am, shower, get dressed, morning shift with Jacob starting at 5am.
Garmin is not working because it does not have the North America map. Great! That means we can't follow the routes we planned ourselves in HH. Intermediate destinations (cities) noted by hand, entered into the navigation system, and off we go.
The weather was completely awful.
Rain, roads are wet accordingly, thick fog in some areas, windy, just under 10 degrees - weather to stay at home (and not in the hotel) and in bed. But: No choice.
Due to work reasons, the 550 HP here are useless. Except that they sound fantastic. We can only use country roads, where the speed limit is 80 km/h, see picture.
After 8 hours, we finally made it, there are still post-work evaluations and such.
Arrived at the hotel at 1pm. Great, Bundesliga starts at 2pm with the top game BVB-HSV.
Afterwards, Patrick, J. and I went to Smoke Signals. Classic old-school BBQ restaurant. I had beef brisket with coleslaw and potato salad. Divine.
Tomorrow is the crossing to Montreal starting at 10am; Toronto is already done. Hopefully the weather will be better so that we can see some of the landscape. Good night.
