Day 5: Queenstown

Gepubliseer: 13.09.2018

Today, I didn't set an alarm clock, so I only woke up at 10:30 and took a shower. For a moment, I wasn't sure if it was raining or even snowing. It turns out it's just rain. Since my stomach is growling, I start looking for breakfast. Okay, I admit what I'm going to eat doesn't really qualify as breakfast, but does it really matter? I have three churros and a hot chocolate at the Patagonia Chocolateria. A successful breakfast. Because it's raining and the sun is shining at the same time, I can see a rainbow. Since the weather isn't good and I've already seen most of the town, I decide to take the gondola up to Ben Lomond. The view is incredible, but it's a bit cold and windy. After a short stay at the viewpoint, I make my way down. I share the gondola with an Australian couple. I say goodbye and start looking for food. Luckily, I find a sushi restaurant. Since it's really cold, I return to my hostel and watch a few episodes of Netflix.

When you go to McDonalds and they ask if you want a large or medium meal, what do you usually do? That's right, you ask the cashier how big "large" is. He will be confused and ask you what you mean by that question. He will then demonstrate the two sizes using cups. It can be really funny. Then he brings you the food, forgets the Coke, turns around to get a straw, and realizes that you already have a straw.

It's really sad when something you've been looking forward to for a few weeks gets canceled. That's what happened to me today when I wanted to go stargazing. Nonetheless, I take the gondola up the mountain again because the view is still worth it.
