35th stage from O Pedruozo to Santiago de Compostela

Onwards to Santiago de Compostela!

Today, I will reach the destination of the Camino. But what does this positive outlook do to me... in the morning, I can't get out of bed properly, I take an extremely long time for breakfast at the café, and when I finally start walking, my pace is so slow that I look left and right to see if an old acquaintance, the snail, is overtaking me. Somehow, I don't want to arrive yet. Then I remember that I am still going to Cape Finisterre and I think of my family once again... and pick up the pace.

The advantage of my dawdling is that the 'main group' is far ahead of me, so the first few hours are unexpectedly and pleasantly quiet. The desire to take photos arises again, much to my delight, it is not raining contrary to the forecast, on the contrary, the sun shows itself occasionally.

The closer I get to the city, the faster I walk, and I observe the same phenomenon around me. When I stand on the large square in front of the cathedral, I am overwhelmed by a great feeling. I send Monika a picture via WhatsApp, she immediately calls... tears of joy on both sides. The next tour belongs to both of us!

In the late afternoon, I collect my certificate, order must be maintained. I am number 658 on this day and far from being the last.

Rain sets in, this time the hiking umbrella comes in handy.

In the evening, I have a date with Moritz, Elvira may join as well. It will be a great evening.
