After a successful surfing course and 2 beautiful days in Agnes Water, I drove on to Rainbow Beach. Rainbow Beach is one of several access points to K'gari, the largest sand island in the world. On K'gari, we explored the island with a group of 26 people and 4x4 WD cars. Driving an off-road vehicle was incredibly fun, there were no paved roads, everything was made of sand. On the island, we visited many freshwater lakes, all of which had extremely clear and clean water. Our guide 'Clint' had extensive knowledge and told us many stories about the island and nature. Without him, the days would certainly not have been as entertaining and exciting. So far, I have to say that these three days have been the absolute highlight of my trip to Australia.
