The last days in Perth we used to explore the city, stroll around and lie on the beach. We naturally set a few highlights for ourselves: We went to the cinema to watch the last movie on our list (Hidden Figures), ate Kangaroo Burger in Kings Park, and went to the outdoor cinema.
The last few days went by really fast ... hard to believe that it's slowly coming to an end. I'm really looking forward to going home, but I'm also a bit nostalgic because I feel so comfortable here and I have somehow fallen in love with this country. It definitely won't be the last time I was here. The weather luckily bid us farewell with consistently bright blue skies and temperatures over 40°C. A bit too hot, but I won't complain.
For the last two days, we had to take some time to do the laundry and pack. Packing is always the worst part for me. On the day of departure, I didn't feel well - yes, it was also strange to leave Australia, but I was mostly afraid of checking in my luggage! For me, it's always the worst part of our trip. Surprisingly, my backpack was only 23 kg - I never would have thought that. This time, the problem was my carry-on luggage, which was a little too heavy with 13 kg (6 kg too much). The nice lady at the counter advised me to throw something away - I didn't follow this advice. After a long back and forth, my carry-on suitcase only weighed 8 kg - the rest was in a bag and is supposed to pass as a women's handbag. I can only hope... we are currently waiting at the airport for our boarding, so fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly.
