After an unspectacular Monday, an unspectacular flight with an approach and a landing at sunrise ends in the most spectacular way possible. New Zealand has really pulled out all the stops.
The land of the long white cloud (Aotearoa) is shining with very warm late summer weather and only a few scattered clouds in an otherwise bright blue sky.
After picking up my home (see above) for the next 3.5 weeks, I went directly to a campsite near the city center and parked it there again. Thank goodness the vehicle has automatic transmission, otherwise I would have sweated even more on the many hills.
Auckland is located on 53 volcanoes and stretches across several islands. During the bus ride to the city center, it becomes clear why Auckland is regularly voted one of the most livable cities in the world: either you see houses between the green parks or countless sailboats in the bays.
Now I'm sitting in the Sky Tower (this time planned) and looking at the harbor and city while I'm writing these lines.
Soon I will probably stroll towards the harbor and look for something to eat.
Greetings from the other side of the world!
