Always northwards, southwards... Well, eventually we have to go back. Unfortunately. It's getting colder here and we will notice it more with every kilometer we drive. But that doesn't matter, because the air is so clear and fresh that you just enjoy being here.
Occasional leaves and trees are already turning yellow, announcing autumn. Just yesterday it was still 23 degrees? Well then, we'll have to pack up our swimwear again and dress in double fleece. And after traveling along the Lyngen Fjord for a short while, we see them. The huge glaciers that characterize northern Norway (as well as the fjords, of course). We see so many in the Lyngen region, we can hardly keep up with the names. Massive islands rise from the fjord and disappear into the clouds, we feel tiny. A look down into the water makes us grow back to human size. Countless little shells cling to the rocks, beneath them golden algae sway in the ice-blue water. Nature is a composer, a mighty one at that.
During a break in the yellow-green birch forest, we enjoy the fresh air. Shy Theo is hiding well and we almost didn't find him (almost, because he can't run away without us... we hope...). Every now and then, small rain clouds pass by. But now, quickly, into the car and further northward.
