Hello everyone,
On our first day in Whangarei, we once again looked for a workshop for our car. Now we have new brakes and our SRS light doesn't flash anymore :) I have updated our blog with the latest news :), cleaned up the car, and done some other stuff. One day, we visited the beaches around and a 27 meter waterfall.
The plan was to drive from Whangarei to Auckland and do a whale safari there. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad that the organizer canceled the safari tour. So we decided to go directly to Coromandel Peninsula, which was originally planned for the next day. It turned out to be fortunate for us because Auckland had a very bad storm and the whole city was without power for several days. After such a warm and beautiful summer, now there are many rainy days. Fortunately, we were already in Coromandel at that time and only experienced a slight impact.
It was very windy on the way to Coromandel, and we passed many roads that were damaged by previous storms. However, the bays and mountains on this route were beautiful.
Since it rained a lot and we couldn't see much, we stayed here for 2 days and made a plan for the upcoming destinations. We looked for activities in the region that we still wanted to do and where to find them. I went for a swim in the pool when the sun came out briefly in the afternoon. Well, you can really feel that autumn is coming. The leaves are falling from the trees, the sun and the wind are getting colder. At night, it's only 8 degrees.
