Thailand ends in Krabi

Gepubliseer: 27.12.2018

At least for us: Krabi was our last stop in Thailand where we also spent Christmas and from where we continued to our next country, Malaysia.
This area is significantly larger and more touristy than Phang Nga was before. However, it is surprisingly quiet and not overcrowded. At least not when we were here.
We visited two famous beaches, namely Ao Nang Beach and Railay Beach, as well as the Tiger Cave and the Emerald Pool.
The Tiger Cave has a Buddhist temple complex in a cave, with a Buddha statue located at the top of the rock. To see the statue up close, you have to climb up 1,237 meters of stairs. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy the free drinking water - not to mention the view and the Buddha over the mountains ;-)
The Emerald Pool is a natural pond in the middle of the jungle. But with its clear turquoise water, it looks more like a pool in an expensive hotel. The path to the pool is also incredibly beautiful, as you walk 1.5 km along a wooden path through the Thai jungle. Unfortunately, the sun didn't come out that day. However, the pool still impressed us and if you're in the Krabi area, you should definitely check it out.
On the way back (55 km on the scooter), we got to experience the rainy season again. So we drove on the highway in pouring rain without any protection. Even light raindrops felt like hard blows. But we managed it without any bruises and proved that we have integrated well and adapted to the Thai conditions in our four weeks in Thailand. However, we still don't recommend such a ride.
On our last day, Thailand bid us farewell with a bright sky and sunshine. We spent it at the beautiful Railay Beach.
Now we're sitting at the airport in Krabi, feeling a little sad because Thailand was truly beautiful and we already miss the country. But we're also feeling happy because we're looking forward to Malaysia.
Let's keep going. There are still 93 days left - yay! :-)
