Today, we start the morning by planning our last day tomorrow (26.06). After some thinking and research, we decide not to visit the Killing Fields and instead visit the S-21 torture prison in Phnom Penh. Additionally, we check in for our flight to Bali, which departs the day after tomorrow (27.06). Then, we go out to have breakfast/brunch. Along the way, we come across a street food stall that prepares Cambodian noodles and we indulge ourselves - we are so impressed that we plan to come back here again.
While eating, a thrush-like bird watches us from a partition wall right next to us. At first, we are somewhat surprised by the friendliness of the bird until we realize that it belongs to the owners of the restaurant and has been domesticated - a cute little creature.
Afterwards, we continue to roam the city, refresh ourselves with ice-cold drinks from street vendors, and browse the supermarkets that are found on every corner here.
As the sun sets, we head to a somewhat touristy restaurant just around the corner and have sweet and sour chicken and pork with fried onions and garlic - we also have 2 beers. Unfortunately, the value for money is not particularly good, so we are slightly disappointed as we return to our hostel. After making a few calls back home with the help of the internet, we go to bed.
