It's really weird to be reporting on a platform where people are talking about their exciting, adventurous trips and we're stuck here - far away from the planned adventure, with closed borders, limited freedom to travel, all the panic around us, and no destination in sight for now - and it's hard for me to write a fluffy-funny post. So here's a short, informative summary for those who are interested in an update or waiting for one.
A stroke of luck in misfortune, because the motorhome is still not on the ship, on its way to the USA, and still our home! After the entry into the USA was prohibited, Denmark has now also closed its borders, where we have rented a holiday home until March 28th since Saturday (March 14th). Fortunately, we were not on our way there yet.
Since we had to go back to the dealer with the motorhome for some improvements, we are currently in Bavaria, where we spent a sunny weekend at Lake Rothsee, which we walked around with our motorhome friends from Nuremberg today. It was nice to be with you, Birgit and Bernd :o)
We will stay in Bavaria for a few more days and then drive back to Hamburg in a relaxed manner, where we still have appointments at the end of the month.
After all the organizational stress of the last few weeks, it is very unusual to have no stress on our necks, but on the contrary, not being able to plan anything and not having any obligations. The only downside for the next few weeks is that we can only stay within the German borders and it is uncertain when this could change. But as written in the last report, we make the best of it, continue to have a smile on our faces, and the scent of freedom in our noses...
As promised, we took some photos of the car for you. It's a Cathargo chic e-line 61 XL, model 2020, on Mercedes.
Best regards
Thomas & Janina
P.S.: In my farewell message to my colleagues, I wrote that after all the road trip movies I had been professionally involved with over the past few years, we are now embarking on our own road trip adventure. Now it feels a bit like we're starting an end-of-the-world thriller sci-fi adventure, but I'm sure there will still be a twist that heralds the happy ending ;o)
