Day 12: Tokyo- Hamarikyu Gardens, Shibuya, Harajuku

已發表: 17.08.2016

Day 12 included a very extensive walk through Tokyo. We started with the Hamarikyu Gardens, which are located amidst numerous skyscrapers. There, we were able to drink traditional green tea at the beautifully situated tea house. The tea ceremony also includes intensely admiring the tea bowl, which must be turned clockwise.

Afterwards, we went to Shibuya, a district known for its famous crossing. There is also the Hachiko statue, which was built in honor of a dog who continued to wait at the station for years after his owner's death.

After a short stroll through the shops there, we walked to the fashion district of Harajuku. There, we browsed through the boutiques, where the prices were low and the clothes were quite small.

Then we went to the Meiji Shrine, where there were numerous sake barrels set up for blessings, as well as barrels of fine French wine, which were a gift of reconciliation from France.

From the Meiji Shrine, we went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. From the top floor, you can overlook the city from a height of 202 meters. Houses as far as the eye can see.
