Off to the honeymoon 🥰

Early in the morning, after 4 hours of sleep, we are greeted by a gentle mist that stretches its wet fingers over the lawn. The cloudless sky already announces the beautiful and sunny weather of our trip.

The wedding the previous day far exceeded any scale of our expectations. The location was amazing. The predicted thunderstorm didn't happen, Kristina, our officiant, designed a fantastic ceremony, the photographer Christine pinched her fingers and captured memories for eternity with her friendly manner. The atmosphere was bombastic and we didn't lose rhythm in the wedding dance either. A separate contribution for August 25th. Will follow soon when we have WiFi again and have arrived 🥰.

Spontaneously, as always, there was even a flash mop to Miley Cyrus' Hoedown Throedown 🥰. Many thanks again to all the friends who patiently and with a lot of humor learned the complicated dance on Thursday evening and a big apology to all the other friends of our "stag party" who had to endure the same 20 seconds of the song at different speeds for 4 hours 😅 .

But the effort was definitely worth it! I still celebrate you beyond measure and am overjoyed to have such great friends 🤗😘.

Just in time for our honeymoon, our fully packed new car, which we named Plötze Pözze, awaits us. The dog box that fills the Toyota Yaris is almost lost in the former Pösse car 😂.

Before we leave, we fish out a few notes from the lovingly designed wedding presents so that we can take care of ourselves in Sweden 😅.

The deposit process is already the first difficult obstacle. The first Commerzbank ATM in Citi is deactivated. So another small detour awaits us on the way to the ferry. It's a good thing - thanks to Ian - that we planned enough time. The second machine quit after a first unsuccessful attempt and the customer support turned out to be an unhelpful robot.

With a little patience, we managed to deposit the money we collected. Phew, we were sweating a little.

We arrive at the ferry in Puttgarden exactly half an hour before onboarding. After a short wait it starts straight away🤗.

Arya's old trauma resurfaced on the ferry. After our first crossing 2 years ago, she still stands still to this day on shiny floors and doesn't want to move on. She just finds the vibration incredibly scary. Good thing it only weighs 13kg. With a dog under your arm and two on a leash we go up to the sunny deck 🥰. Of course, Arya was given a particularly thorough cuddle.

With the tires on solid ground again, we continue our journey through Denmark and then through Sweden. Having not yet fully arrived in a foreign land, I greet the customs officer with a warm “Moin” - oops 😂 - but Moin seems to be understood as a universal greeting, even here.

After another 5 hours we arrive at our interim accommodation at Fishgebäck (that's not the name of the place. But that's what I remembered it 😂).

True to my motto “ I never get lost, I circle my goal ”. But first of all it goes around in circles because our planned road is blocked by a construction site. But in the end we managed it. We were immediately greeted at the camping yard by two friendly Swedes who we asked for directions to check-in. The two live half an hour away and come to visit their rabbit every now and then. They couldn't hold it anymore and gave it away here where it found a new home.

Without further ado, they call the owner of the campsite, who immediately comes to us and shows us our accommodation. She is also super accommodating and even gets up earlier tomorrow so that we don't have to leave without breakfast.

Our accommodation turns out to be a cozy little tree house that immediately evokes certain associations with the bedroom of the Capitol in The Hunger Games.

Before going to bed, we treat ourselves to a romantic meal consisting of wedding leftovers on the cozy floor of our first accommodation.

We fall into bed dead tired and are already looking forward to tomorrow when we will travel across Sweden for 10 hours 🤗.
