So, I am going to Richard, my car agent.

Here we filled out the so-called Form 8.

Then I went to my notary Sergio with it.

Here my signature had to be notarized.

Sergio then had to get Form 8 approved by the authorities.

A few days later, I picked up Form 8 from Sergio and took it to Richard. Richard then sent Form 8 to Buenos Aires, as the seller apparently had to go through the same nonsense again.

(It reminds me a bit of Asterix conquers Rome. If you haven't seen the movie, you definitely should.)

But the result is worth it, isn't it?

There has been quite a bit of progress regarding migration.

The good Martin arranged an appointment for me with the head of the migration authority. This waiting and pulling numbers is quite annoying. ;)

Long story short, the authority takes care of the paperwork and now here’s the kicker:

I will receive an Argentine passport and can keep my German passport, as Milei has abolished the deadlines.

This might also be something for some of you.

Buy a property in Argentina and then you get an Argentine passport. You can rent out the house.

If things get tight in Europe, you would have a real 'escape strategy'. An entry into Argentina cannot be denied anymore. And if all else fails, you can 'flee' to the Argentine embassy. You would then be an Argentine.

The bike project is getting started.

I saw on the Chapa map that there is a bike rental at the so-called 'Skarte.ar'. Perhaps one could have also bought a bike there. Unfortunately, that was not possible.

The response came promptly.

10:00 PM Saturday night, homemade empanadas:

Even reheated, they tasted excellent. A real tip.

Okay, Sunday was the day of the pool party. Everyone came. Agustin, his mother, and three wonderful women.

In the evening, Tomas Moro invited me to a concert.

It couldn’t get more Argentinian than this. Everyone had a smile on their face. Little kids and dogs were running around. It smelled like weed.

Everyone does as they please, as long as they don't disturb others.

This is the society as I wish it to be.

Yesterday, there was a really beautiful sky here. I don't want to keep that from you.

But today I had quite a nice experience. I mentioned earlier that the roof is constantly supplied with water. The 'drain' looks like this:

Water continuously drips onto a stone here. This might have even been built that way for the birds.

Long story short, a hummingbird took a shower on this stone today. Pretty cool.

I had to sell my beloved Zetty for less than it was worth. You remember. Customs would have cost $8000. Completely crazy.

I still regret it to this day. So unfortunate. But there's always something.

The roads here are very different. Some are better than in Germany, while others are really bad.

A roadster wasn't an option here. Those things sit too low to the ground.

Here's the compromise. A 220 BMW convertible.

No roadster feeling, but at least it's a convertible.

We have made peace with the city; it is admittedly a truly great city. Tango in a square in San Telmo, a fantastic market, colorful houses, Argentine steak in La Boca, and a wonderful seafood restaurant in Palermo.

Unfortunately, we don't have time for the art museum and the Teatro Colon theater. Tonight, we will catch a tango show before heading home.

Today I picked up the 3 packages at the post office that I had sent to myself.

One package got stuck in Germany. How unfortunate. They were all addressed the same way. I guess I’ll have to call later. At least it had the plastic my godfather gave me for my diploma. If that got lost, I would be really sad.

So I drove to the 'Post' office. And as it always goes: When I told them I migrated from Germany to Argentina, there was general enthusiasm in the office.

My car was in the parking garage and I would have had to carry each package individually to the garage. The clerk immediately said: 'Just park in the no-parking zone, we will bring the packages to your car.'

Amazing! Viva Argentina!

So we did it that way, and I took a proof photo of the postal worker loading the packages into my car (otherwise, no one would believe it):

To Argentina, where the officials still help you.

You can reach there by driving along the famous Route 40. At a rest stop, there is a mast with the names of many capitals, indicating the distance. Frankfurt is listed there ;-)

Unfortunately, we are here for way too short a time. It is really beautiful here, and we would love to extend our stay by 2-3 days.

Tomorrow, our flight is heading to Buenos Aires.

Tomorrow we will travel to El Chalten and hope to see Fitz Roy.

Today it was hard to find a headline. We left Chile yesterday and entered Argentina.

Chile: We have nothing but great memories. Such friendly people. We felt safe everywhere. It's clean, and the traffic (except for Santiago) is very pedestrian-friendly. Chile is a dream for all nature lovers and hikers.

Upon arriving in El Calafate, we attended an astronomy course. Extremely interesting. We saw the Southern Cross, Jupiter, Alpha Centauri, and much more.

Today we visited the Perito Moreno glacier and witnessed several ice calvings. Very impressive, unfortunately not photographable so quickly. The ice calvings occur because the ice presses on the water, and the water pressure creates a counterpressure that leads to splintering.

The glacier shimmers bluish; in some places, it even appears blue: the more compressed the ice is, the bluer it looks.

A sad truth: This glacier is also melting. The last image in our series shows how much it has melted at the edge since 2020.

The bird is a Bandurria, which also lives in Australia. It is a type of ibis, and it eats mice and rats as well.

That's bearable.

In the afternoon, I continued my 'beach exploration.'

'La Reserva' was on the agenda.

Quite nice. Everything you need is there:

In Argentina, where it can rain even in summer.

The pool has now been filled with new water. And it looks fantastic.

At the deepest point, the pool is actually 1.60 meters deep.

You can't really swim laps, though. You end up swimming more in circles.

As mentioned, a lot of consideration was probably given to the birds and children. The shallow water area is quite pronounced.

I think it's good.

We actually have an area that I can't quite interpret. Was it supposed to be a hot tub? Or maybe more of a kiddie pool? Or some kind of 'relaxation area'?

I find it to be a personal highlight. Very relaxing. Really well done.

How does everything work? I haven't really grasped it yet.

What I know: There is a central pump that I can turn on and off from the house.

About pools that you don't understand right away.

This morning there was a thunderstorm.

Which was good, as my well has filled up again.

In short, the pool is full, and the water in the house is flowing again.

Now I was also able to make my goldfish happy again. The pond should ideally have a certain exchange of water every day. No problem. The well is full again.

The goldfish are deeply relaxed. They were never fed. Somehow, a balance has developed here between algae and fish. I think that's great.
