On Monday, Rob was already up early feeding all the horses before Tanya and I were up. After that, he went to visit his mother in Calgary, we saddled the horses and went for a ride. That was our routine every morning this week, except on Wednesday. It rained all morning, and because Kalen was celebrating his 8th birthday in the afternoon at the ranch, Tanya and I went to Bonnyville to do some shopping. When we came back home, we decorated the entire house for the birthday party. We celebrated the whole afternoon, ate delicious birthday cake, and tried out the new games that Kalen received.
On Saturday, a family from the USA came to the ranch to visit the foal they had bought. They had been at a horse show in Edmonton this week, and before they headed home, they visited us. To see what their colt could become, they took a test ride on his father, Tanya's stallion Roscow.
On Sunday, a potential buyer for a riding horse that Tanya and Rob wanted to sell came. Tanya spent the whole morning with her and the horse to see if it was what she was looking for. In the meantime, I started packing my things. On Monday morning, I will take the bus to Edmonton, stay there for one night, and then take the bus to Edson on Tuesday, where my new host mother will pick me up.
On Sunday evening, I went to Cold Lake with Tanya, Cody and his girlfriend Pernille, and Kelly and her three kids for dinner by the lake. Unfortunately, a storm with strong winds started exactly then, so we quickly went into the restaurant. It was a cozy evening before my departure.
