Schahaatz is already working hard at the gym. My inner pigdog whispered in a very soft and monotonous voice: 'Keep sleeping'. And of course, I did just that, had a good night's sleep. You need to recharge for the day ahead. When you have 20 attractions included in the stop-over program, you have to visit them. We can't do all of them in 2 days, at least we can't, but we managed to visit one yesterday and maybe two today, which is a good result. 😃
But before any good sightseeing tour, you have to..... no - not to eat.....but to shop. Finally, flip flops. Actually, also a phone case, but we ran out of cash and had to find an ATM first.
Hop on hop off buses are a great invention. You just sit back and enjoy the ride. First stop:
Chinatown, because our stomachs are starting to rumble and you can eat here for a small amount of money. If you have cash, that is. But we still didn't have any. So we kept looking for an ATM. We already looked for one in the market hall, at the same spot, 3 months ago. (Of course, we found it too)
For breakfast (it's already 1:00 PM), we had fried noodles.😋
We stroll through the shopping streets in Chinatown after having a good meal and treat ourselves to some Tiger Balm. Then we continue by bus towards the Singapore Flyer
💡The Singapore Flyer is the second tallest Ferris wheel in the world at 165 meters. It has 28 cabins, each capable of holding up to 28 people. The number "28" has a symbolic meaning: the number 8 is considered lucky by Chinese, so 28 is seen as double luck.
It takes 30 minutes for a complete rotation and it was really enjoyable. Nicely air-conditioned,
💡each cabin has 4 air conditioners, producing 32 liters of condensation per hour.
We had the cabin all to ourselves. The view was amazing - wow. Singapore must be the city with the most skyscrapers. As far as the eye can see - skyscrapers.
And with the longest ship parking lot.
From up here, we also have a splendid view of the two cruise ships that arrived yesterday. Yesterday evening in the Garden by the Bay, the German language could be heard quite a lot. Today, Chinatown was dominated by Germans.
Unfortunately, the ride ended too quickly. We wanted to hijack a cabin and mark it with our flag, but we decided to leave it to enjoy the upcoming boat tour. We left the cabin, got back on the bus, and went to the next attraction, the boat ride on the Singapore River. 40 minutes of just cruising and enjoying the view of the city. A nice ending.
Time for another meal, then packing up and to top it off, watch the laser show at Marina Sands Bay Hotel from the rooftop of our hotel.
That's it. Those were 2 hot days in Singapore, those were 3 months of taking a break.
We only have 17 hours left until we're back home.
Humans are creatures of habit after all. On all long flights, we always sat by the window, just like today. At least we thought so, until the flight attendant asked to see our boarding passes again. Well, too bad when you only read the row number correctly. Now we're sitting in the middle and we had already made ourselves comfortable in the window seats. Hopefully, we'll have a calm flight.
