Day 11 - Bakka at Næroyfjorden via Vossevangen and Viking Valley in Gudvangen

What luck we had yesterday evening. After a very moved Dutchman promised John a few travel tips following his guitar playing, they spontaneously took us up to the mountains to watch the sunset.

At over 1000m altitude, the view on this clear day was spectacular. We are incredibly grateful to Els and Erik. If you ever read this: Wow! Thank you. This Dacia tour with two abyss spotters (Anna and Els in the back seats) will remain in our memories forever. 🥰

We continued along a scenic road going up and down the mountains, with views of the fjord on the right and beautiful waterfalls on the left.

Rushing rivers with stones and forests and romantic bends on the left, breathtaking cliffs and mountain peaks on the left, and then we went shopping in Vossevangen.

After the sports outlet and a wine shop, we had enough muffins from the Meny supermarket for the next day and headed to the Viking Valley in Gudevangen, a Viking village.

Quite charming, but it seemed like not much was happening outside of the season. Most of the little houses were deserted. You could buy axe throwing and a few rings. 20 euros per person for that is a lot.

So we didn’t linger and went to Bakka to the tiny little campsite in the middle of nowhere at the end of the road (recommended by Erik). We managed to snag the last spot. 400 NOK is a hefty price without showers and electricity, but the view is really beautiful, and when most kids are in bed, surely peace will return here.

How lucky we are!

There was salad and a grilled piece of meat... the bolo yesterday was better... we thought, but we still found it quite good.
